Ice on Crow Lake is breaking apart very quickly. Expect we will be ice-free by late in the week.
Tonight I was out to see the south side of 2 Mile Island. A bit of ice on the east half, but it falls apart if you drive through it. I left a little wake as I was heading back to camp to rip more of it into little pieces.
Lake Trout were most noticeable up against the edges of the ice sheet near a drop-off. I would expect trolling along the ice sheet would be successful. I tried jigging for about an hour and lost a Laker, at the side of the boat.
As I can I will post a couple pictures on Facebook from tonight.
