Boreal Bay – Fishing Report – 7/8

Water play season is in full swing and expecting we will see people swimming in Crow Lake almost every day for the next month.

Lake Trout bite is pretty solid, seems to be a good late morning bite.  No groups in Trolling for Lake Trout.  No real big fish report, all have been 32″ and under.  Good eating sized fish have been common.

Walleye from Lake of the Woods starting it a little slow for the groups just arrived, but they will find some good ones soon.

Muskie groups having reasonable success. 48″ is the big fish for the week, about a dozen others over 40″.  Bulldawgs and bucktails have been the most popular lures.

Bass – South Narrows Lake finally had bigger bass being caught in good quantities. Crow Lake bass good on live bait and ok for bass trolling groups.  Jessie Lake was also productive.

Perch – biting well on Crow Lake.  Report of 100 in a day, but a touch on the small side.

Northern Pike – being caught on accident for most, a few over 30″.

I am still looking for my first Sunfish on Crow Lake!  Maybe in the next couple weeks, I can try a little harder to catch one. I have seen a few, so I know they exist.  🙂
